On the banks of river Hooghly, approximately 15 km south-west of Kolkata, Rotary Club of Budge Budge was established in 1965. After 30 years of community service the Rotary Club of Budge Budge Welfare Trust spread its wings and established an Eye Hospital.
In 1995, GRSM Rotary Eye Hospital was inaugurated at Budge Budge. Since then, this hospital has been providing service to the people of 24 Parganas (South) & adjacent districts such as Howrah and Kolkata at the most affordable cost. Approximately 40000 patients visit this hospital yearly for treatment. Apart from this, GRSM conducts various eye checkup camps at rural areas for screening cataract patients & doing refraction. Nearly 2500 eye operations are done at GRSM every year. Doing IOL Operation (SICS) at free of cost for camp patients. Phaco Operation minimum price Rs. 5000/-. Also providing Retina Injection (IVAT) @ Rs. 9000/-. This hospital also has an in-house OPD for Retina & Glaucoma patients. Almost all kinds of the latest equipment is available in this hospital such as OCT, USG, Perimetry, Biometry, YagLaser, NCT, Autoref & Keratometer.
